Carbon dioxide - is one of the most well-known greenhouse gas. It has a great damage and is effecting the atmosphere a lot and the high outlet rate is one cause of the global warming. In the United States, more than 90% of greenhouse gas emissions come from the combustion of fossil fuels. So where does it all come from? The best answer is: from fossil fuels, that we consume a lot of in todays society. Mainly the big thief of the carbon dioxide emissions and other damaging gases is transportations.
It could be the boat transporting apples from china, the truck delivering oil or your car that is right in this minute effecting our climate. But even if oil and gas is important in the discussion of pollution, still the burning of coal is even more harmful and produces much more carbon dioxide. It also produces sulphur dioxide, a gas that contributes to acid rain. We can reduce this before releasing the waste gases into the atmosphere. All of these three fuels are called fossil fuels and that means that they are not renewable energy. Once we've burned them all, there isn't any more, and our consumption of fossil fuels has nearly doubled every 20 years since 1900. This is a particular problem for oil, because we also use it to make plastics and many other products.
No photosynthesis- The circle of how we get oxygen everyday is depending on the factor of photosynthesis. This process is something the plants and vegetation uses to convert carbon dioxide into oxygen and it’s a must for our existence. But what happens when we start to use and over consume the woods for products and as fuel? First of all we disturb the nature and the creatures living there but also we decrease the possibility for our ecosystem to remain stable. Their won’t be any trees taking care of all carbon dioxide in the air and we won’t have any oxygen. This is a major problem and why recycling is such an important factor today. If we don’t recycle we will run out of natural resources and that will be a huge problem. Of course trees are renewable energy but still to burn a forest down goes very much faster than to grow one. We can’t destroy more than we build up.
What is really destroying our nature? The simple answer is the aggressive greenhouse gases which is keeping the heat inside the atmosphere. There are some so-called long-lived greenhouse gases and some of them are Carbon dioxide, Methane, Nitrous oxide and CFC (chlorofluorocarbon compounds). But how can the world change to stop this? Where are they coming from?
Methane- is an other gas that is destroying or climate. This is most aggressive one and is mainly coming from our meat and milk production though there is a lot of methane in a cow fart. During the last century the production of meat has risen a lot and of course it has a great impact on the global warming. Methane is as said a very dangerous gas and we should be aware of it in our consume of these kind of products. Also rice paddies and other animals for food industry are a cause of the methane releases.

DID YOU KNOW?
* The World Resources Institute regards deforestation as one of the world's most pressing land-use problems.
* An area of forest equal to 20 football or rugby fields is lost every minute.
* South Africa's climate is such that less than 0,5% of its surface area is covered with indigenous forest - great care should be taken to conserve the little we have.
